VSAT
SGSI’s VSAT (very small aperture terminals) service provides high bandwidth solutions for large amounts of data transfer and multiple phone lines. This means a force located in a remote location can utilize LAN, Internet and other applications that previously would have been almost impossible. VSAT is the perfect solution for long-term activity where high numbers of personnel are situated in a remote, but semi-permanent location.
Inmarsat BGAN
SGSI’s new BGAN solution offers high-speed data and voice connectivity that goes wherever life and work takes you throughout the world. It offers significantly expanded bandwidth and capabilities, as compared to current-generation mobile satellite services. BGAN’s range of smaller, lighter-weight terminals provide high-speed wireless IP data and circuit-switched network and shared capacity IP data rates up to 492 kbps. It also allows simultaneous voice and data traffic making the system flexible to a degree that is unprecedented in mobile satellite communications.
Iridium
If you work or travel in areas outside cellular coverage or in areas with inadequate landline service, Iridium is for you. Inmarsat GAN
Inmarsat GAN services allow for worldwide accessibility by extending networks into remote regions. Tailored to suit the large data transfer requirements of clients in many sectors -- especially the government and humanitarian industries – the GAN service offers affordable, low-speed voice, fax, and data capabilities along with the cost-efficient High-speed Data (HSD) and MPDS capabilities. The transportable terminal is the size of a laptop and weighs approximately 7 kg.
