Swift64 from SGSI is an advanced Inmarsat satellite communications service for airlines, business aviation and government users, that provides enhanced bandwidth for applications such as high quality voice, e-mail, Internet and intranet access, and videoconferencing – at speeds up to 64 kbps – on a global scale.
With Swift64, aeronautical customers have access to both a high-quality, pay-by-the-minute mobile-ISDN solution for large file transfers and video conferencing, as well as high-speed Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS) for cost-effective, always-on e-mail and Internet connectivity charged by the amount of data sent and received.
Plus, Swift64 terminals now offer up to four 64 kbps channels that can be bonded to produce a 256 kbps data rate – or an effective rate beyond half a megabit per second, using compression and acceleration techniques. Swift64 also supports high- and low-speed voice communications.
Value Added Service - Global One Number™ 
SGSI offers Satcom Direct’s patented Global One Number™ or GON™ service provides a reliable solution for placing ground to mobile unit voice, fax and high-speed data calls via satellite.
GON™ is a 10-digit number customized for and assigned to an aircraft, vessel or any other mobile unit and begins with either a 651 or 321 area code.
Value Added Service - Aero X™
Available from SGSI, Aero X™ puts the “speed” in high-speed data transmission. This patent pending service compresses data creating a more efficient use of bandwidth. That means business professionals can send and receive greater amounts of data in shorter amounts of time while in flight, thus using less time to complete business.
Using Aero X™, Customers experience data speeds of up to 500 kbps to 1Mbps - an increase in Swift 64 bandwidth by 100 to 400% and four times faster than any other provider.
Based on proven technology used by the U.S. military, Aero X™ operates worldwide utilizing the Inmarsat Satellite network and is compatible with all aeronautical Swift 64 systems.
SwiftBroadband
The launch of SwiftBroadband, expected in Q3-2007, provides customers with the opportunity to leverage the successful Swift64 platforms, such as internal aircraft networking, Command & Control, ISR, video conferencing reach-back, network centric communications. Customers will have the capability to continue to develop airborne services and applications and take advantage of the greater bandwidth and IP capabilities of SwiftBroadband. |
