Robert J. Roe
President
Robert Roe was appointed President of Stratos Government Services Inc. (SGSI) in July 2006. In this role, Mr. Roe has responsibility for leading this company fully dedicated to serving U.S. Government customers, including the U.S. Department of Defense, federal and state government agencies. Mr. Roe oversees all operations and sales for SGSI, and is accountable for P&L as well the company’s strategic direction and partnership arrangements. He is also responsible for the evaluation of new technologies to enhance SGSI’s capabilities and solution offerings.
Prior to SGSI, Mr. Roe spent the past three years as Senior Vice President, MSS Sales, for Stratos. With more than 27 years of experience in both commercial and government satellite communications, particularly in the maritime sector, Mr. Roe was instrumental in moving Stratos into a position of global market share leader in both Inmarsat and Iridium mobile satellite services. Before Stratos, Mr. Roe was the National Account Manager for Government Maritime accounts at COMSAT Corporation, where he identified and secured substantial business opportunities with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and foreign government entities, leading to the execution of high-value contracts.
A 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Roe worked in the communications and intelligence fields, with assignments ranging from surface shipboard tours on cruisers and aircraft carriers, airborne commands in C-130 Hercules TACAMO aircraft, and Special Warfare Mobile Communications Units in Desert Shield/Storm. He holds both a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Management and a Masters of Science degree with honors in Business Management, from National Louis University.
Vineet Puri
Vice President, Finance
Vineet Puri currently serves as Vice President of Finance at Stratos Government Services Inc. Mr. Puri was recruited by Stratos Global executive team and joined Stratos Government Services Inc. (SGSI) in July 2007. In this role, he has responsibility for managing financial oversight of the company’s strategic and operating activities.
Mr. Puri brings over 15 years of finance and operational experience, gained at diverse organizations, ranging from small entrepreneurial firms to multi billion dollar global operations. His industry experience includes telecommunications, information technology, professional services and manufacturing; focused on commercial, federal and state & local government customers.
Prior to joining SGSI, Mr. Puri was Director, Financial Planning & Analysis at Intelsat, the largest global satellite communications provider. In that position he was responsible for business analysis, long range financial planning, corporate budgeting and forecasting. He played an integral role in mergers and acquisitions (ranging from $100M to $6B), business ventures, global business development, corporate strategy, product development and profitability improvement.
His prior experience includes senior financial positions at American Management Systems, Inc. (now CGI Group Inc.) and Information Systems & Networks Corp. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree from University of Delhi.
Carole A. Hochberg
Director, Contracts
Carole Hochberg was recruited by Stratos' Executive Team and joined SGSI on September 1, 2006 to establish and manage SGSI's contracting requirements. Prior to accepting this position, Carole served for eight years as Stratos' Director, Contracts & Legal, managing all global corporate transactions. Carole was instrumental in supporting the company's organic growth from a regionally focused North American company to the global leader in satellite services that it is today through integration of acquisitions, establishment of Stratos' global U.S. Export Compliance Program and creation of Stratos' innovative, Internet-based contracting process for the sale of mobile and fixed satellite telecommunications services and equipment.
Prior to joining Stratos, Carole held Contract Management positions with COMSAT Mobile Communications Corporation, GTE Spacenet Corporation and CONTEL Corporation gaining extensive experience in commercial and military sales, both domestically and internationally.
Carole earned a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, in Business and Management from University of Maryland University College.
