Inmarsat Fleet
FleetBroadband FleetBroadband is the first truly global maritime communications service offering simultaneous broadband data and voice via a compact antenna. FleetBroadband provides unprecedented connectivity between your vessels and the shore, regardless of position or conditions at sea. The service is cost- effective, fast, reliable and an easy-to-use “always-available” solution for email, Internet, network and voice services. Using 3G standards, FleetBroadband delivers data rates up to 432 kbps utilizing Inmarsat’s I-4 satellite constellation.
Fleet
Having evolved from the highly successful Inmarsat A, B and M systems, Fleet from Stratos provides high-bandwidth IP to maritime users across four ocean regions from lightweight, compact, stabilized antennas. There are three options:
-
Fleet 77 - an integrated service that allows you to choose from Mobile Packet Data (MPDS), ISDN, PSTN and low cost voice telephony. With Fleet 77, any vessel can be turned into a floating office and with key features such as 128 kbps ISDN connectivity, your ships can now be seamlessly integrated with your shore-side networks.
-
Fleet 55 - combines global coverage for voice with spot beam coverage for data. Fleet 55 offers a versatile range of solutions previously restricted by size and expense of terminal hardware. Choose from MPDS or ISDN connections depending on your needs.
-
Fleet 33 - brings facilities and services previously available only on much larger vessels directly to users on smaller vessels in the Inmarsat spot beams. Fleet F33 delivers digital voice calling, fax and dial-up data service at 9.6 kbps. Plus, with available V40/V42 compression, Fleet F33 can provide apparent data speeds of up to 40 kbps. Fleet F33 Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS) provides "always connected" benefits combined with data-based billing. This always-on, higher-speed option is particularly suited to IP-based data applications, such as Internet, intranet access and e-mail.
